Umbra-Sarcina Part 3The sun had risen higher by the time Ari reached the ravine, morning light casting sharp-edged shadows among the rocks. Reaching the edge, he spied Lucas hunched over a flat rock near the stream, tinkering with some gizmo or other. A rockfall where part of the ravine wall had collapsed granted access to the stream below. As he descended the rugged slope, Ari watched the young were thoughtfully, seemingly unaware of his presence. *He's a strange one*, thought Ari, *quiet, almost antisocial at times.
